GRASS TOURNAMENTS

Skill Divisions & Pool Play

Our grass tournaments use a self-reported skill division system:

What Level Are You?

A – Skill range from beginner- intermediate (Recreational)

AA – Skill range from intermediate to advanced (Competitive High School and/or Club Player)

AAA – Skill range from advanced to elite (Competitive Post-Secondary Player)

Teams will be grouped into pools based on the division they register for and the overall tournament registration makeup. Unlike traditional indoor tournaments where pools are balanced evenly across all skill levels, grass tournaments are typically structured so teams compete primarily against others within a similar self-reported level throughout the day.

This means that playoff brackets will usually stay within those competitive groupings. For example, higher-level pools will generally feed into higher-tier playoff brackets, while intermediate or recreational pools will typically remain within their own competitive tier.

Our goal is to create the most competitive and enjoyable experience possible by prioritizing balanced matches and appropriate competition levels. That said, tournament staff reserve the right to adjust team placement, pools, or playoff brackets if results clearly indicate a team has been placed in the wrong division or if adjustments are needed to maintain competitive fairness. All formats and placements are subject to change based on registration numbers and tournament operations.
