17U Boys

Vince has coached youth volleyball at schools in Vancouver and North Vancouver such as Sir Charles Tupper, Eric Hamber, Argyle, and Sutherland. His Sutherland Sabres won the North Shore AA Championship in 2022 and 2024, qualifying for AA Provincials in 2022.

With BCO, Vince's coaching centres around innovation, resourcefulness, and developing the whole individual to generate maximum results from the team. His 16U team posted elite statistics at the 2025 Nationals, and his 14U team won a gold medal in their tier at the 2023 Nationals. He has also coached athletes to tournament victories on the beach.

A number of Vince's athletes have taken their sport to post-secondary and National team levels. Vince invites receptive, motivated athletes who enjoy a challenge to come grow with BCO and take their game to the next level too.

Reese Nowotny is currently in his third year as a middle and captain for the Capilano University Men’s Volleyball Team while also perusing his film and business studies. This is his second year coaching

Troy grew up in Vernon, BC, where his love for competition led him through multiple sports before ultimately finding his home in volleyball. After representing Team BC several times and learning from some of the top coaches in the province, he developed a strong competitive spirit and a deep appreciation for the impact great coaching can have.
Troy attended the University of Victoria and began his coaching journey at Oak Bay High School. He served as an assistant coach with both the Oak Bay Senior Boys program and senior-level club teams in Victoria. Since moving to North Van in 2023, Troy has brought the same passion and enthusiasm to BCO.
Troy strives to build a positive, high-performance atmosphere where athletes feel supported and able to excel. His coaching focuses on strong work habits, steady growth, and helping each player use their strengths to contribute to the team’s success.
chrissy robinson

Chrissy is a cognitive science grad from SFU with a passion for volleyball. She led the SFU volleyball club for three years, running the team through tournaments in the United States and throughout the Lower Mainland, all while fostering a fun atmosphere. 
Born and raised in North Vancouver, Chrissy played volleyball throughout high school, university, and still enjoys the game at a recreationally competitive level. With her love for sports and interest in the mind, she’s all about teamwork and community!
Kyle ​HINCHEY
Assistant coach 
Kyle Hinchey is a 27-year-old coach with a strong background in both indoor and beach volleyball. He played competitively from U13 through university, including multiple seasons with Team Alberta Indoor and Team Alberta Beach. Kyle also competed on the Canadian Youth National Teams at the U17 and U18 levels.

At the university level, he played for UBC Okanagan, where he earned Rookie of the Year across all sports, as well as Canada West and All-Canadian honours. His experience across provincial, national, and collegiate programs allows him to bring a clear, practical, and athlete-focused approach to coaching.

15U Boys

Sherry-Ann grew up in Mission and played AAA volleyball.  Sherry-Ann was named female athlete of the year twice and went on to play recreational volleyball until having children.  Sherry-Ann returned to the court last year as a coach of the Grade 10 Sutherland girls volleyball team.  Sherry-Ann led the team to playoffs for their first appearance in 4 years.  This season Sherry-Ann took on coaching the Sr. Girls team at Sutherland where they have a winning record of 9-1 and are advancing onto playoffs and Zones; hoping to clinch a spot in this year's Provincials up in Dawson Creek.  Sherry-Ann is very passionate about the game of volleyball and loves being back on the court.  Sherry-Ann believes that hard work, communication, and dedication are what makes a strong team.

Connor grew up in a volleyball family, inspired by two older siblings, he has been playing since he was a toddler. After a very illustrious club and high school career, 2x provincial champion and 3rd at Nationals, Connor was Recruited to play at Capilano University.  Currently, Connor is in his second year at Cap, along with his second year of coaching at BCO.

14U Boys

Geoff grew up in Kelowna, BC, playing a variety of sports. As a father of three, he coaches many youth sports including soccer, hockey, baseball and alpine ski racing.

He was fortunate to be part of a great high school volleyball program at KLO Secondary where he quickly fell in love with the game. He continues to play Team BC, Club, beach and eventually player for the University of Alberta Golden Bears from 1998-2002. Geoff is very proud of the National Championship the team won in 2002. After moving to Vancouver, he joined the UBC Thunderbirds from 2003-2005. Geoff has always had a passion for beach volleyball and continued competing well into his adult life.

Geoff is excited to join the coaching team at BCO and is looking forward to contributing to the growth of boys volleyball on the North Shore.
Brad Martin
Assistant coach
Brad grew up in Vancouver playing a variety of team sports and involved in a range of outdoor activities. At youth level, volleyball was his passion and he played for Team BC before moving on to the UBC Thunderbirds. Volleyball was a family obsession: his sister also played for the Thunderbirds and his niece played competitively in Europe. When he left UBC, Brad stopped playing competitively, but never lost touch with the game. More recently, the passion of his teenage son for the sport has rekindled his love for the game.

Brad has coached youth teams in a variety of sports at the high school and club level. He is a strong believer in the benefits of team sports and is committed to supporting the growth and development of young athletes.
